Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is also referred to as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the United States and Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She works as an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation occasionally. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. She is the child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first position as producer assistant at Univision Miami, where she was a producer of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. After 2009, the news reporter relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was an anchor on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then an anchor for the news channel on English until 9pm, then a news anchor for 10pm, before returning on the Spanish channel. The station also frequently asked her to be an anchor for weather and sports. She then anchored and reported on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She also wrote articles to the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. In addition, she hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted to anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In similar roles for the network's magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz, Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1985 in Mexico City. She has an elder sister. In 1992 her family left Mexico and moved to Miami. The couple divorced within a short time and in 1995, she was married a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she took an entire week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta was just graduating from high school, however she knew her plans for what she would be doing. The campus was stunning as well as offered the level of education she wanted. Following the completion of her high school education, she attended the university to study media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was student in her class, developed a lasting relationship with her. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
